The Medical Grade HEPA used in the Austin Air Healthmate Plus® effectively removes up to 99% of bacteria and aerosolized viruses* larger than 0.1 microns. HealthMate Plus 4 Stage Filtration

The HealthMate Plus Air Purifier has 4 stages of filtration. Each one helps you get clean air fast. There is 2 pre-filters and a Medical Grade HEPA for maximum protection.

Stage 1 

The large particle pre-filter is made of bonded polyester. It helps remove particles easily seen by the naked eye such as dust, hair, and pet dander. It acts as the first line of defense in the filtration process. 

Stage 2 

The removal of small to medium size particles (e.g. molds, spores, and pollen) takes place with the medium particle pre-filter. It adds an extra layer of protection that most other air purifiers do not provide. It is also made of bonded polyester. 

Stage 3 

With over 780 cubic inches of Activated Carbon, Potassium Iodide Impregnated Carbon, and Zeolite, you can be sure your home or office will be free from VOCs, formaldehyde, benzenes, chemicals, gases, and odors. While removing these, the carbon filter teams up with the HEPA to form great protection as both have properties that allow them to adsorb chemicals and gaseous materials.

Stage 4 

An industry-leading 60 sq. ft. of True Medical Grade HEPA removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns. The HEPA filter was developed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. After this stage, clean air is pushed out for you to breathe in.
